7. Futuro simple y continuo

Futuro simple:
Sujeto + will + Infinitivo:
I will study.

Futuro continuo:
Primer verbo en futuro y segundo en gerundio:
Sujeto + will be + gerundio.
I will be studying.

Se usa igual que en español, excepto en el siguiente caso:

Cuando queremos dar el mensaje de que algo ocurrirá con seguridad, podemos usar el futuro continuo:
You will be hearing from me (estarás oyendo de mi), Tendrás noticias mías.
Pero podemos usar el futuro simple también:
You will hear from me (oirás de mi).

We’ll know the result in a week.
Sabremos el resultado en una semana.

I’ll be in Paris next week.
Estaré en París la semana que viene.

I’ll be having a coffee in Paris this time next week.
Estaré tomando un café en París a esta hora la semana que viene.

Will you be able to help me tomorrow?.
¿Podrás ayudarme mañana?.

I’ll be helping my friend tomorrow.
Estaré ayudando a mi amigo mañana.

I’ll help my friend tomorrow.
Ayudaré a mi amigo mañana.

Do you think she will get the job?.
¿Crees que conseguirá el trabajo?.

If you don’t run, you won’t catch the train.
Si no corres, no cogerás el tren.

At three o’clock tomorrow I’ll be catching the train.
Mañana a las tres en punto tomaré el tren.

I’ll catch the train at three o’clock tomorrow.
Cogeré el tren mañana a las tres en punto.

I’ll be watching you.
Te estaré observando.

I’ll watch the kids while they are in the pool.
Cuidaré a los niños mientras están en la piscina.
I’ll be doing chemistry next year.
Estaré haciendo química el año que viene.

I’ll do chemistry next year.
Haré química el año que viene.

When you next see I’ll be wearing glasses.
Cuando vuelvas a ver, llevaré gafas. (estaré llevando gafas)

I will wear sunglasses if we go to the beach.
Llevaré gafas de sol si vamos a la playa.

I won’t wear these glasses. They are too ugly.
No llevaré estas gafas. Son demasiado feas.

Perhaps he will arrive in time for lunch.
Tal vez llegará a tiempo para el almuerzo.

When you arrive in Santiago it will be raining.
Cuando llegues a Santiago estará lloviendo.

I wonder if he’ll succeed.
Me pregunto si tendrá éxito.

He will be wondering what happened.
Se estará preguntando qué pasó.

I hope he will remember my birthday.
Espero que se acordará de mi cumpleaños.

Now he’ll be remembering how happy he was yesterday.
Ahora estará recordando lo feliz que fue ayer.

I’ll wait for you until six.
Te esperaré hasta las seis.

I’ll be waiting for you all day.
Te estaré esperando todo el día.

Phone your parents. They will be wondering where you are.
Llama a tus padres. Se estarán preguntando dónde estás.

Phone them. They will be getting angry.
Llámalos por teléfono. Se estarán enfadando.

If you don’t phone them, they will get angry.
Si no los llamas, se enfadarán.

He’ll be going to Madrid by now.
El estará yendo a Madrid a estas horas.

He’ll go to Madrid tomorrow.
Irá a Madrid mañana.
We’ll be landing in Barajas in a few minutes.
Estaremos aterrizando en Barajas en unos minutos.

We’ll land in Barajas in a few minutes.
Aterrizaremos en Barajas en unos minutos

I will not be working next week.
No estaré trabajando la semana que viene.

I will not work next week.
No trabajaré la semana que viene.

I won’t go to work next week.
No iré a trabajar la semana que viene.

Esta noche veré el estreno de la próxima temporada.

Esta noche estaremos charlando y pasando un buen rato.

Esta noche charlaremos y pasaremos un buen rato.

When you come, I will be waiting.
Cuando vengas, estaré esperando.

Where will you be waiting?.
¿Dónde estarás esperando?.

I will be watching TV when you call this evening.
Estaré viendo televisión cuando llames hoy a la tarde.

When we arrive at their house tonight, they will be waiting.
Cuando lleguemos a su casa esta noche, estarán esperando.

Next month he will be ten years old.
El mes que viene cumplirá diez años.

How old will he be next month?.
¿Cuántos años cumplirá el mes que viene?
